The paper gives a general overview of Bohemian funeral culture of 16th and first half of the 17th century drawing attention to rituals and elements of death and dying depicted in books of ars moriendi, funeral procession, funeral sermons, castrum doloris, gravestones, epitaphs, all within the framework of the multi-confessional society of Bohemia and Czech lands before the second half of the 17th century.
