Abstract

Venous hypertension connects all stages of chronic venous disease (CVD). The highest grade of CVD, i.e. open crural ulcer, significantly worsens all aspects of patients' quality of life.

Complex treatment includes both surgical and conservative methods, i.e. measures concerning patient's regime, adequate elastic external compression and correctly selected venous pharmacotherapy. It is essential to minimize a progressive character of the disease beginning from its initial phase.

Our paper shows the potential consequences of the underestimation of this disease in a real practice.
