Abstract
Contribution of famous Czech surgeon professor Eduard Albert (1841-1900), published in 1887 on the opportunity of 25th anniversary of Sokol foundation, was reminded in this article. Albert's contribution describes physical conditioning of young men in ancient Sparta and reposition of luxated humeral joint according Hippokrates method.
Author of the article acquainted the readers with historical personalities and locations, mentioned by Albert in his contribution.
