The life stories of Lenka Reinerová and Anna Seghers united at some point, as a result of historical circumstances, both were expelled from their homes by the Nazis, lost their families during the Holocaust, and had to escape to Mexican exile. Students of Universität Leipzig and Charles University are dealing in this monograph with the life and work of both authors.
The novel Transit, written by A. Seghers, and the short story Die Schiffskarte, written by L.
Reinerová, were in the spotlight. In addition to reflection on Prague's German, the papers in this monograph deal with the issues of identity, contemporary social politic- contexts associated with anti- fascist exile.
