Abstract
The author gives a lecture - an introductory report at the international conference Fourth Season of Prague Dialogues on Church and State Relations on the theme Spiritual Care in Public Institutions. He describes an international dimension of the research on the spiritual care in public institutions, i. e. the spiritual assistance that religious communities provide for the benefit of the military, of the prison system, the police, the fire brigades, hospitals and other health care facilities.
