Abstract
The chapter present an overview of the teaching assistant's work models, including the advantages and disadvantages of each model. Based on interviews with 59 teacher assistants in the Czech Republic, it shows the diversity of direct and indirect activities of teacher assistants in schools.
The experience of these assistants is compared with the current legislation and the current state of the monitored issues in Czech and foreign literature.
