Young adults in Prague suburbs

Publication

Abstract

The process of residential suburban-ization, which started in the Prague metropolitan region in the 1990s, not only multiplied the population of many municipalities, but also fundamentally changed their demographic structure. The generation of young adults (aged 18-26 years) who grew up in suburban locations and are now growing to the age of looking for their own housing remains somewhat neglected.

How significant is this specific age category in Prague suburbs? The poster analyzes this question from three different but complementary perspectives: (1) What is the evolution of young generation generation in the general population? (2) How does their spatial distribution evolve? (3) What is the absolute growth of their number?
