Abstract
Communication deals with some aspects of POCT testing by means of recent literature and by following comparison of conditions in Czech Republic and other countries. Increased attention is devoted to external quality assessment programs.
In Czech Republic is not in this time sufficiently developed study of POCT testing. Generally, is possible to observe the lack of data from POCT studies on the patient's outcomes.
This may be serious obstacle for positive value and real advantage of POCT- shortening of turn-around-time.
