Abstrakt
The contribution was held on a workshop called A postsecular turn? Religion in political discourse in Eastern Europe organized on 21. November 2018 by ÚPOL FF UK.
The paper analyzed turn in the politics of Czech Catholic church and especially archbishop Dominik Duka and it showed some dilemas and contradictions in the relationship of the Czech liberal mainstream to the Catholic church. The postcommunist liberalism is kept between support of the church as the anti-communist institution (the discussion about the restitution of church property) and criticism of the church as a nationalist and antiliberal political force (discussion about Muslim immigration).
