Development of syntactic competence in a Czech child

Abstract

The monograph analyses the language development of one Czech monolingual boy from onset of speech till age 6. The boy was audiorecorded in interaction with adults and also diary records were used.

The monograph describes argument structure in a simple sentence, development of compound and complex sentences (paratactical and hypotactical relations), usage of conjunctions and complexity of the sentences and their illocutions.
