In the question of the use of copper deposits in prehistoric times, the article focuses on the region of the Bohemian Forest, where especially in the Domažlice region we observe an unusual concentration of prehistoric settlements in the vicinity of raw material sources of copper and tin. The aim of the research was to verify whether a specific deposit Měděnka u Mutěnín could be used for the production of copper before they are documented by written sources.
The paper is based on the results of research that have documented certain types of prehistoric and early medieval activities in the immediate vicinity of one particular copper deposit.
