Abstract
The monograph focuses on complimenting in Czech language. The study is based on more than 70 recordings of private, informal communication between family members and friends.
The analysis focuses on: actions made by complimenting; lexical, morphological, syntactic, and nonverbal means used in compliments; reactions to compliments.
