Abstract

The article deals with the specifics of the functioning of non-literary and obscene vocabulary and phraseology in the discourse of Russian and Czech politicians. The author underlines a significant change in the nature of the public representation of the politician, which influences on the choice of linguistic means for expressing the relation to the designated subject or phenomenon.

Types of non-normative language means used in political communication in Russia and the Czech Republic are distinguished. Specific features of the use of non-normative vocabulary are determined depending on the speaker's intentions.
