Presentation of a contribution at the professional seminar organized by the Department of Social Work of the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University in Prague on 1 October 2019 on the occasion of the start of the new academic year. The aim of the speech was to point out the main persistent forms of prejudices and stereotypes based on gender in social work in several interconnected theses at three interrelated levels: a) social work as a (feminized) profession, b) access to clients within professional assistance / relationship and (c) the position of social workers in professional teams and organizations.
The purpose was to motivate those present to a deeper reflection and the sensitive approach at all levels of their (social) work.
