Public services reconsidered: from taking-for-granted to shared responsibility

Abstract

The chapter deals with changes in perceptions of public services in the Czech Republic. It is argued that expectations on public services are steadily rising, and they are taken for granted.

This is a general global trend. In the Czech Republic it is, however, intesified, by differences in generations, fast increase in standard of living, and partly also by idealization of public services in the CR.
