Abstract
This paper focuses on this most recent Czech translation from three main viewpoints, taking into account the translatological categories defined by Jiří Levý: it pays attention to the semantic density of both original and translation; to the rhythm of the Russian and Czech text, and finally to stylistic and semantic shifts due to the modernization of translation. Later in the paper, the comparison of the Kasal's translation with that made by Bohumil Mathesius.
