Abstract

Thirty years. This is exactly how many years have passed since the Velvet Revolution.

While the "large history" of 1989 has been more or less researched by historians, the post-revolutionary lives of those who unleashed the November events are rarely known. Now they are at the center of the oral historical project of the Institute for Contemporary History at the Czech Academy of Sciences "The Student Generation of 1989 in Longitudinal Perspective: Biographical Interviews after Twenty Years".

What are they doing today? What do they think of the world around them? And did the personal experience of the Velvet Revolution play any role in it? These and other questions will be answered by (not only) the authors of the forthcoming book One Hundred Student Evolutions (Academia, November 2019), which follows the very successful book One Hundred Student Revolutions (Lidové noviny 1999 and Karolinum 2019 - in print).
