To the competition of nominative/instrumental predicative: a corpus analysis of sentence structures with subject masculine animate nouns

Abstract
In this study I follow copious discussion about semantics of case category in Czech. I analyse chosen nouns in the position of nominative predicative or instrumental predicative with the help of the newest synchronic written corpus of Czech language - SYNv7.
I try to verify opinions on this problematic presented in literature with the emphasis on the fact that only one studs realized on corpus material base so far (Štícha 2004). I dedicate special attention to masculine animate nouns pán, muž, chlap, otec and syn.
I take into consideration various semantic features of these nouns like "male person", "husband" or "monarch" within my analysis.
