My concern in this paper is the question of social contribution of the aesthetic experience of art as it was developed in the thoughts of Albrecht Wellmer. Wellmer elaborates on Theodor W.
Adorno's aesthetic theory but offers a new understanding of the problem of the relationship between art and society, as well as of art's critical and transforming - rather than reconciling - power.
