This publication presents a research project focused on preschooler's musical creativity and teacher's pedagogical creativity in Czech kindergarten environment. Firstly, current theoretical knowledge at national and international level is summarized.
Secondly, children's musical creativity through qualitative research (by an experiment) and parents' opinions of family musical climate (by a questionnaire) is studied. Moreover, mixed methods (questionnaire, interview) are used to investigate pedagogical creativity.
The results showed that preschool children are capable of musical creative development. Nevertheless, their achieved level of other musical abilities is not necessarily related to the quality of musical creative abilities.
Additionally, it has been revealed that the teacher has a great positive influence on the development of children's musical creativity, especially by his/her general musical abilities, musical creative abilities and musical skills, which can influence the musical creative manifestations of preschoolers.
