Abstract

Among the first legal regulations adopted on 14 November 1918 by the newly formed revolutionary National Assembly was Act No. 61/1918 Coll., whereby nobility, orders and titles were cancelled. As its original character was symbolic and ceremonious, it did not contain any sanctions, however, these were added not long after in 1920 (by Act No. 243).Offences involving the unlawful use of nobility or suggestion of former nobility were to be prosecuted henceforth by courts in the Czech lands and by administrative authorities in Slovakia.
