Abstract
This book offers insights into the structures and policies of seven least populous European democracies, namely Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco and San Marino. The chapter examines the political system of Malta.
The point of departure for both this chapter and the book as a whole is the existence of an influence of the size of the state on politics in all its dimensions, including political organization, political relations and public policies.
