Abstract

The surface of our planet is in constant motion. However, we do not mean the Earth's rotation or tidal movements caused by the attraction of the surrounding Solar System bodies, but the movement of lithospheric plates.

They move along the surface of the globe as a result of Earth's gravity and the circulation of molten matter at depths of hundreds of kilometers below the Earth's surface.
