Abstract
This article comments on the word formation process in modern Russian language using a piece of the novel 'Duty free' by Dmitry Pastushok and the comedy television series "Realnye patsany". The terms as slang and argot are explained at the beginning of the article together with the definition of teen slang.
The main part of the article is dedicated to particular methods of forming new lexis used in teen slang.
