In my work I concentrate on a subject who, almost did not exist under the previous regime - small business and small traders. This class was (along with private property) destroyed with a few exceptions.
The rate of socialization in Czechoslovakia reached a level even higher than in the USSR. From the point of view of my work, the most important attribute of this group is its independence from the state and thus the level of freedom of its individual members.
The middle class has never been the focus of historians and, moreover, the years after 1989 are still a neglected period of Czech history. Transition and consolidation, as a political science topic among historians, is also somewhat gradual, and attention is still focused on events prior to 1989.
Moreover, the research of informal institutions has a great interdisciplinary overlap from studying culture of society, economics, sociological methods to common history.
