Family psychoeducation is complex intervention for patients and their families. Psychoeducational programs for severe mental illness provide systematic, relevant, broad and up-to-date information about the illness, emotional support and problem solving skills training.
There is evidence that psychoeducation for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and depression improves the outcomes of both patients and their relatives. The goal of this review is to describe practical aspects of psychoeducation, including arrangement of programs, topics and availability in the Czech Republic.
