Abstract
A hundred years after the death of Josef Wünsch, a long-deserved homage has been finally paid by dedicating this issue to his personality. As an introduction to the topic, the traveller is portrayed in the context of the Habsburg schooling system, of a general enthusiasm of the period for travelling and of the blooming genre of travel pictures in which Wünsch was a follower of Jan Neruda.
