Abstract
The treatise presents the history of continuum analysis within the framwork of the natural philosophy. I analyse the problem of the geometrization of motion in the thought of Galileo, Descartes and Leibniz.
The Leibnizian solution to the problem of the continuum between 1669 and 1676 is given in the second half of the book.
