Abstrakt
Several concurrent integration projects have been developing in Eurasia, first and foremost the SCO, BRI, EU and EAEU. In my paper, I present a comparative view on these projects focusing on their normativity and goals.
It leads to the formulation of a new international order paradigm that I call the New Eurasian Paradigm (NEP), within which China and Russia are its main driving forces. The NEP poses an alternative to the Western neo-liberal integration and globalisation model, being a political articulation of the emancipating non-Western world ("the Rest") whose peoples have been seeking a fairer, more equal and more democratic global order, based on interests and needs of each region and local particularities.
I argue that there are no antagonisms and fundamental contradictions among the BRI, EAEU and SCO. Nevertheless, successful development of these projects and fulfillment of their visions require not only political will, close cooperation, mutual recognition and understanding but also a change of thinking, an identity reinterpretation and acceptance of Eurasia-orientated perspective and partnership.
