This paper deals with the grieving in persons with intellectual disabilities. The aim is to describe the general patterns of grief and mourning, including reactions to the loss of a loved one, to describe the specifics of grief in people with intellectual disabilities and to suggest possible ways of supporting the process of grieving in people with intellectual disabilities.
In particular, we consider the last aim to be very important, thus the support of the grieving process can be very simple and intuitive, so the examples can be practically used while working with mourning people with intellectual disabilities.
