Abstract
The lipids are in blood system transported by lipoproteins. Lipoprotein (a) is a unique lipoprotein of the human plasma discovered by prof Berg in the year 1963.
Lp(a) composited of apoliprotein (a) and LDL. In comparison with the other lipoprotein particles, the lipoprotein (a) plasma level is rather constant, only slightly affected by endogenous and exogenous factors.
Elevated lipoprotein (a) levels are considered to be a risk factor for atherosclerosis and aortic stenosis. The risk level is over 50 mg/dl.
By elderly was detected hight levels of Lp (a), it is possible due to his protected effect by reparation of tissue and anticancer activity.
