Abstract
When the Dead sea scrolls were found in Qumran, they started new interest for biblical topics. One of these topics is the perception of evil in jewish society.
In this paper I would like to show how are evil spirits described in Dead sea srolls texts and what was the purpose of these beings. I will show connection between christian theology and essenic dualistic description of some spiritual entities.
At the beginning of the paper I will shortly present the historical backround and introduce the essen community. Afterwards I will present and describe the main apocryphal documents, their history and stories about evil spirits.
