Eccentrically Dwelling. Annotations on Fink's Determination of Human Being as a Relation

Abstract

Since human being exists as a "relationship" to the world, the question arises as to how the relation to his or her own self is realized against the background of the relation to the world. Fink answers this question by referring to the eccentricity of human existence, which is eccentric in so far as it is based on a special boundary relationship: human being lives in that way inside that he or she is at the same time and outside of him- or herself, he or she is anchored in the unavailability of the world and forced to realize the tension of nature and freedom inherent in his or her world relationship.
