Abstract

Glucocorticosteroids are more than 70 years considered as a first choice for treatment of many pathologies. During this long period of use in medicine was also reflected their second face, not life-saving, but also harmful to the human body.

Despite the fact we have today available other anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive drugs or biological therapy, in some cases we cannot avoid corticoids. This is also confirmed by our case study, where systemic glucocorticosteroids have been administered for a long time because of diagnosis of bronchial asthma and then replaced by biological therapy, and finally we were forced to re-use glucocorticosteroids because of another indication.
