Maximal velocity and amplitude decrement angle: a novel parameter for finger tapping instrumental evaluation in Parkinson disease

Abstrakt

We defined a new VADA parameter that uniquely combines two independent parameters: the opening velocity and amplitude decrement. This new parameter distinguished PD and NC during the first 10 FT and is more sensitive than an expert evaluation and the OVA and ADA parameters.

We conclude that the sequence effect characterized by amplitude decrement should be extended with velocity measurement for the diagnosis of PD.
