The purpose of the text is to reconstruct selected elements of the Czech media image of the world. This image is limited to aspects related to religion.
The presented examples will become the basis for answering the question of how cultural conditions affect the way of transmitting and creating specific information, showing to what extent the image created by the media is homogeneous and whether it corresponds to commonly used stereotypes. The material base is press texts from Czech newspapers - MF DNES, Lidové noviny - describing the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to the Czech Republic in September 2009.
