The Balkans and anthropological imagination at the Department of Ethnology (Charles University)

Abstract

The article focuses on the activities of the Department of Ethnology (Charles University) in theacademic year 2018/2019. Within the lecture series Balkans and anthropological imagination there was a number of prominent international scholars (Katherine Verdery, Maria Todorova, Michael Herzfeld), who introduced concepts associated with the anthropological study of the Balkans (like, e.g. balkanism, orientalism, postcolonialis, etc.).
