Abstract

Herpetiform dermatitis is a skin disease falling into the category of gluten sensitive disease. Pathogenesis is based primarily on interaction of certain peptides, the tissue transglutaminase enzyme and the bowel immune system.

In the clinical picture we see the appearance of small, polycyclical blisters. Treatment icludes suppressive therapy with sulphones and strict gluten free diet.
