This paper deals with a bronze clothing fibula, which was found in the el-Hayz Oasis during the Czech mission's work in this site. This artefact originating in a military milieu, was manufactured in the period 280-450 AD somewhere in the Danube region.
As such provides remarkable evidence of the movements of people across the empire and cannot be exclude that the so far anonymous, very rich owner of the magnificent House 3, who belonged to the local elite, could have been a former veteran.
