Electronic Voting in Education of Mathematics

Abstract

This contribution aims to introduce the possible use of mobile phones within education of mathematics, namely electronic voting followed by group discussions over the posed conceptual question. The described activities are part of teaching strategy Peer Instruction, through which I have been teaching mathematics for several years at a lower grade of a czech grammar school.

In addition to Peer Instruction, the paper will also show how pupils perceive electronic voting and what importance they attach to it.
