Zbyněk Sekal and Kurt Ohnsorg: Friendship despite Ceramics

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2019

Abstract

The text looks at the beginnings of the sculptor Zbyňka Sekala's contacts with the Austrian art scene during a period of relative political thaw in the mid-60s. At ceramic symposiums organized in Gmunden (Austria) by Kurt Ohnsorg, he made contacts that made it easier for him to begin emigration in the late 1960s.

Moreover, he shared with Ohnsorg an interest in the values of the Japanese tao in relation to fine art.
