This study has its origin in author's lecture at the XXXI. Summer school of historical studies in Prague.
Its chief objective is to give the teachers of the history the short biography of František Palacký (1798 - 1876), the most important Czech politician and historian in 19th century. The author stresses Palacký's ability to turn profit form very good material conditions of his family to create his modern conception of Czech history and politics.
His influence in Czech society was also very important for T. G.
Masaryk, when he created his philosophy of Czech history before the World War I.
