According to the principle of non-refoulement, respectively the principle of non-refoulement, no one should be returned to a state in which he is at risk of violating fundamental human rights. This protection of the vulnerable person from the direct intervention of the persecuting State is based on the idea of humanity and the concept of human dignity and includes, inter alia, protection against torture and inhuman treatment, arbitrary interference with life and persecution for race, religion, nationality or belonging to a particular social group.
