2019

Abstract

The keynote is focused on an action research results. Non-chemical vocational school students were tested for their chemistry problem-solving skills.

With the use of an eyetracker their strategies and problems were further identified to support an intervention plan. It consisted of several rounds of tasks with scaffolding for the student groups.

After more than 4 months the students were tested again. Their progress suggests the intervention was successful and working on the problem tasks with appropriate scaffolding design to their needs can be used to develop their problem-solving skills.
