Abstract
The use of anglicisms in political discourse is due to several factors: firstly, the use of anglicisms can make a politician's statement more understandable to foreign colleagues and translators; secondly, in some countries, the prestige of the English language is so high that anglicisms are perceived by the speakers of another language as more attractive, harmonious, and the use of anglicisms indicates the authority and education level of the speaker.
