Abstract
The analysis of the qualified teachers across the Czech republic by the Ministry demonstrates the following dangerous trends. More than 6 thousands qualified teachers are lacking; nearly 10% of instruction will be assured by non-qualified teachers in next years; the mean ages of teachers is growing; work satisfaction and well-being decreased considerably and finally, the country faces increased numbers of teacher attrition.
There is a need for changes in initial teachers training, during the induction period and in CPD.
