Abstract

The area of the Ore Mountains (resp. Bohemian-Saxon border area) had traditionally close relationships with its northern neighbour Saxony in the past.

Both areas were connected through various contacts, which strengthened especially in the era of Bohemian Revolt and during the following period of recatholisation. The aim of the study is to present recently discovered sources from State archive in Dresden and based on them reconstruct the history of unique area of mining village Cínovec.

Residents of Cínovec formed one of the few communities in the Ore Mountains, which resists to the pressure of recatholisation for the longest time. This study also presents ways of future research of Czech exile.
