Abstrakt
The paper presented current education system in the Czech republic with accent on Deaf children. It was described in the four main domains (1) historical milestones in Deaf education in the Czech republic, (2) medicine point of view vs. culturally linguistic point of view on deafness and they effects on the concept of Deaf education, (3) legislative frame, (4) basic statics data of schooling of Deaf students (education in schools for the Deaf vs. in mainstream schools in last 10 years, number of universities students, etc.).
