Abstract

Review of a book of Karel Staněk, dedicated to Portugal's expansion to Northern Africa in the 15.-18. century. It deels with its beginnings as precondition of the Age of Discovery, as well as with the gradual decline of interest in those regions in the 17th and 18th century.
