Abstract
This contribution deals partly with the mission and cartographic activities of the F. Samuel Fritz, S.J. in the Amazonian region, but especially with the context of evangelization realized by members of the Bohemian province of the Society of Jesus in Latin America.
Emphasize lesser known Fritz' contemporaries and successors in the region of Quito, Lima, Cuzco and missions of Maynas and Mojos. In addition to the catechesis many of them were experts in other fields (astronomy, cartograpgy, architecture, medicine, farmacy, arts, handicrafts, etc.).
